Frequently Asked Questions

The end of the public health emergency does not necessarily mean an end to COVID-19 testing and treatment coverage under your health insurance. The coverage and reimbursement policies may vary depending on your health insurance plan and the policies of your state or federal government. It is recommended to check with your health insurance provider to understand your eligibility and coverage for COVID-19 testing and treatment after May 11.

The requirement for private insurance companies to cover COVID-19 tests without cost sharing, both for OTC and laboratory tests, will end at the expiration of the PHE. However, coverage may continue if plans choose to do so.

After May 11, 2023, while COVID-19 lab tests are generally covered under health insurance policies, you may have to pay a deductible, copayment, or coinsurance (cost-sharing) depending on your specific health insurance policy. You must check with your insurer as to whether your particular plan imposes cost-sharing on the patient for COVID-19 lab tests and/or for an outpatient visit with a medical professional relating to COVID-19 diagnosis or treatment.

As of May 11, 2023, patients with Traditional Medicare can continue to receive COVID-19 PCR and antigen tests with no cost-sharing when the lab tests are ordered by a physician or certain other health care providers. People enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans can continue to receive COVID-19 PCR and antigen tests when the test is covered by Medicare, but their cost-sharing may change after the COVID-19 PHE ends.

State Medicaid programs must provide coverage without cost sharing for COVID-19 testing until September 30, 2024, after which coverage may vary by state. If you are a Medicaid member, please note that state policies vary as to whether a prescription is required. Please check with your insurer about coverage for COVID-19 tests

Antigen tests are fast but sometimes have the inability to detect new variants.

Luckily we offer a PCR and Rapid Antigen test that has you covered on both fronts.

We have been regularly tracking variants of the virus throughout the pandemic. The sensitivity of our RT-PCR test is not impacted by these variants.

$0 if you are insured and meet the requirements for a no cost test. As an example: You have been exposed to someone with COVID or you have been experiencing COVID symptoms, and after consultation with a medical professional regarding care and treatment, the medical professional orders you the lab test(s). However, you must check with your insurer for your specific care plan and coverage details.

Your rapid antigen test will only take 15 minutes and  your pcr test results within 24 hours of your sample collection arriving at our laboratory.

Your test results will confirm whether or not you are infected with SARS-CoV-2. If your results are positive, it is important to limit your exposure to other people and continue to monitor your symptoms. If your results are negative, the virus was not present in the sample you provided. However, it is important to note that the virus may not be detected by the test in early stages of infection. Furthermore, the virus may not be detected if the sample is not collected as directed. If you have reason to believe you have been exposed, it is important to follow up with a healthcare provider for further evaluation, get re-tested, and follow isolation or quarantine precautions as recommended

After receiving your results, you will have the opportunity to speak with a licensed physician who can answer any questions you may have about your test results and help determine next steps in care.

Public Health Emergency Ending on May 11

The US Government has announced that the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) declaration, which has been in effect since January 2020, will end on May 11, 2023.

This change means that people with private insurance may have to pay for COVID-19 tests, both over the counter rapid tests and laboratory testing, depending on their plan. Seniors with Medicare Part B will also have to start paying for COVID-19 tests.
