Our PCR test has been shown to accurately detect the following previously dominant COVID-19 variants: Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Lambda, Mu, and Omicron (including BA.2, BA.4, BA.5, and BQ subvariants). However, we do not routinely identify specific variants in test results.

The Pixel by UM Diagnostics COVID-19 + Flu + RSV is a molecular test, also known as a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT). This test detects the presence or absence of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.  

Your test results will indicate whether or not you have a SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Positive Result: If your test is positive, you likely have COVID-19. To protect others, limit your contact with people and monitor your symptoms closely.

Negative Result: A negative result means the virus was not detected in your sample. However, it’s possible you’re in the early stages of infection or the sample was collected incorrectly.

Contact a healthcare provider for guidance.
Consider getting retested.
Follow isolation or quarantine recommendations.
