We detect the presence of trichomoniasis. Your test results will indicate whether you have contracted this common infection, often referred to as “trich.” If your results are positive, you can connect with our independent physician network at no additional cost.
Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a microscopic parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis. While it commonly affects women, men can also be infected. Importantly, many people with trichomoniasis experience no symptoms.
Anyone sexually active with a new or multiple partners should consider getting tested for trichomoniasis. This is especially important if you have unprotected sex or if your partner’s sexual health status is unknown. Trichomoniasis is a common, curable sexually transmitted infection affecting millions annually. Even if you’ve had it before, there’s a risk of reinfection.
While many people experience no symptoms, regular testing is essential for maintaining your health and preventing the spread of STIs.
Common symptoms of STIs can include:
Genital discomfort: itching, burning, pain during urination
Abnormal discharge: foul-smelling, greenish-yellow, frothy
Other symptoms: vaginal bleeding, penile discharge, painful intercourse

This at-home Trichomoniasis Test delivers highly accurate results by detecting the unique genetic material of the Trichomonas parasite. Using a urine sample, the test employs advanced nucleic acid amplification technology to identify the parasite’s RNA, providing reliable results.
Trichomoniasis Testing Methods
There are several ways to test for Trichomonas.
Nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs) are the most accurate method. They detect the parasite’s genetic material in urine samples from both men and women. The UM Diagnostics Trichomoniasis Test uses this reliable method.
Wet mount microscopy involves examining a vaginal swab under a microscope for the presence of Trichomonas parasites. This method is less accurate, especially in men, as it cannot detect the parasite in urine.
Antigen tests look for specific proteins from the Trichomonas parasite. However, these tests are typically not suitable for men.
Your test results will indicate the level of IgE antibodies present for the foods you were tested for. It’s important to understand that these results alone do not confirm a food allergy diagnosis. To accurately diagnose a food allergy, you should consult with a healthcare provider or allergy specialist. They will consider your test results in conjunction with your medical history, symptoms, and other relevant factors. Only then can a proper diagnosis be made and a personalized treatment plan developed.
